Congratulations On Expectancy Of Baby Wording
Institute of National Remembrance, whose main goal was to survey recent Polish history, especially the Nazi and communist crimes in the Polish nation, was established only 10 years after the rebirth of independent Poland. The structures of the Institute, the research councils and the appointment of the management rules have been so constructed that the institution was independent of short-term interests of different political forces.
This resulted, among others extensive research and objective recent Polish history, especially political, social and economic development from the period of communist rule, a previously published materials, documents and studies have become an important precondition for the possibility of moral judgments of public life, regardless of location on the political scene and then present time. The results of these studies have lead to the disclosure of uncomfortable and morally reprehensible behavior and attitudes of the people associated with anti-communist opposition, people who have often been created on the moral authorities. Such actions constitute an important element of purification of public life and a fair settlement with the past.
Fair, in the spirit of truth, deal with this difficult past is the foundation of social order and moral condition of genuine democracy. Some elites fear of consistent disclosure of the truth or for political expediency chase broke into the Institute of National Remembrance, seeking to liquidate or reduce their activities or simply to take over political control over its functioning and objectives of the research.
These are - in our opinion - the conditions adopted by the parliament amendments to the Act on the Institute of National Remembrance. Entry into force of the amendment to the act will mean that Poland was the only former communist bloc deprived of the possibility of a fair settlement with the past and build their political elites-free people who are unworthy, stained in cooperation with security services in a totalitarian state.
particular concern in the wake of the amended Act:
1.Zmiana rules for choosing the president of IPN, a simple majority by the Parliament, making that the primary criterion for selecting the President will be its responsiveness to the parliamentary majority. So far, the appointment of the President of the Polish Parliament by a majority of three fifths of the votes for approval Senate forced the company to create a consensus of the main political forces and uniezależniał president of the Institute and the current political interests.
second Particular outrage raises the obvious omission of the requirement to passing the vetting members of the college of electors and candidates to the IPN, which is contrary to the requirement formulated to conform to their high moral values.
third The biggest outcry raised that allow access to other staff officers and security authorities, not only the PRL to act on them, but they produce under the operations connected with their "work- or service in the security agencies. " This solution opens up a wide field of law to blackmail. The current law is rightly excluded. It is not only a "historical justice" but the fact that the SB officers will be able to determine what materials are preserved. Thanks to many of them given the opportunity to blackmail his former informants. It is also unclear why the employees of the IPN would have to spend your time, and thus the taxpayers' money in a query for people who served totalitarianism.
4th Bizarre is the principle of sharing original documents. The law previously in force are referred to copies of the documents, which is much more reasonable. Files Brief to create great excitement and a lot of people, including also some former dissidents, publicly demanded the destruction, or "in concrete" (!) IPN file. Certainly many people will be conspicuously destroyed the original documents, regardless of the consequences.
5th Causes surprise removal of the current law a very important research goal: "to develop the activities of organs of state security" (Article 23 in paragraph 2 paragraph 6).
6.Nie it no you can accept the rigors of the Law on the National Remembrance Institute staff such institutions as the censor, the Office for Religious and those serving in foreign civilian and security (Article 5 paragraph. 1 paragraphs 13 and 14, and paragraphs. 2) .
accept with great regret that so many Members of the Civic Platform, derived from the Solidarity movement and the democratic opposition would vote for such changes in the Institute of National Remembrance. We therefore call and kindly asking for their fellow Senators to a "chamber of reflection" rejected the harmful amendment. The ideals of truth and honesty in public life that have guided our actions at that time, also apply today.
If passed by parliament in spite of all this amendment, we turn to the Lord Professor of Polish President Lech Kaczynski of the veto.

In 1952, the then Lt. Col. Wojciech Jaruzelski was recruited by then-Capt. Military Information Czeslaw Kiszczak for counter-intelligence - such a document from the archives of STASI reveals the latest Bulletin of the IPN.
IPN historian Wojciech Sawicki described the rediscovered in the archives of the former GDR security police STASI counterintelligence document of 1986 is mentioned in it, that "the development of close links between Kiszczakiem and Lt. Gen. Gen. Jaruzelski began in the early 50 . when Comrade Jaruzelski was an officer in the military wykładającym General Staff College. Kiszczak companion at that time was the captain in charge of counter-intelligence protection of the university. "
" In 1952, Comrade Jaruzelski was obtained by Cpt. Kiszczak as "unofficial collaborator", sworn by him and used to perform counter-intelligence tasks. Co was rated as very active and valuable "- the document said. According to him, when" at the end of 1952, the then Head of the Main Political Directorate HR, General Kazimierz Witaszewski, Comrade Jaruzelski claimed exemption from the army because of bourgeois origin, Comrade tried Kiszczak about appropriate evidence of the extremely positive attitude and the attitude of Comrade Jaruzelski in the state and the army "

I live far from the Polish, Polish but I live. Just as he lived my Polish husband of the late Stefan Korbonski, co-founder of the Polish Underground State, and his last boss, a leading independence activist and member of the exile government of the People's Party and the pre-war years 1945-1947, when the PSL party assumes the role of independence and nation-wide.
We have years of participation in armed struggle for freedom and independence of the country and take the floor, either way, on key issues related to national independence.
At this time, play out the fate of the IPN, the institutions necessary national independence, which was established about ten years ago, despite fierce opposition, post-communists. For several months last treatments on changes in the law Institute of National Remembrance - treatments that give my firm opposition from numerous manipulation of public opinion, innuendo, etc. methods known personally to me from the communist period. In the struggle for Poland's democratic and referring to the finest traditions of a thousand years of Christian culture and killed thousands of our citizens who knew the value of multi-ethnic tolerance was once a great country.
Today, not only I but all those who know these values \u200b\u200bare deeply distressed and concerned about the anti-Polish slogans all over the world, with no official response from intimidated by the so. political correctness and historical backgrounds of the Polish state authorities.
IPN during the nearly decade of scientific publishing has helped to show the nation's great heroes, the people who first thought of the service of the Serene Republic, the country credited with the goal of basic, not as a slogan-election propaganda.
manipulation attempts on the Act can only lead to the collapse of the IPN or a reduction in his authority, that our neighbors visible changes in the approach to assessments of the history of the Second World War and its consequences, not only for us, but the entire history of Europe, can very quickly turn deadly. For this assessment show my long experience of life. Hence the warning.
IPN is a state institution, established by representatives of the Polish society, and therefore in the interests of society, it should not be freely under the influence of these and other influential people - or emotional - in a hurry to prepare changes. Changes whose consequences may prove to be incalculable.
