a long time to reach the public about its intention to reduce the budget of the IEP - an institution whose primary statutory objective is to restore a correct assessment of the events of Polish history from the years 1939-1990. We hear about proposals for the government to cut the proposed budget of 50 million and allocate it to the European Solidarity Center and the National Archives.
We are people for whom the struggle for an independent Poland, free from the communist totalitarianism was the primary goal of social activity.
Many of us after independence, began the struggle for historical truth - the activity of the IPN is for us the conclusion.
We believe that every government, which relies on the roots of solidarity has to reckon with the opinion of those, thanks to which Poland has regained its subjectivity. We believe that the duty of the rulers is to take care of all the institutions whose task is to preserve, collect and disseminate the memory of the recent history of our history. Any attempt IPN budget constraints especially at the approach of next year the 70th anniversary of the German-Soviet aggression, and 20 of the re-recovery of sovereignty, we consider it very unwise and offensive to those who fought for this independence.
Building Solidarity Center is a surrogate activity, perpetuating myths is round-table. It is perceived as an institution having a lock to reach the truth. This confirms our suspicion that the cutting of funds is a form of blackmail exerted on the IEP in order to hide the historical truth. During these 20 years have not demanded compensation payable but demanded and demand the truth about our history!
media attacks on historians who publish documents stored piecemeal, as had been overlooked during the cleaning operation agenturalnego traces of many people who have presented quite a different light to the public, receiving funds "punishment" of the IPN and the creation of institutions that do not have to show the truth historical, and I relativize, is a repetition of the propaganda activities of the PRL.
particularly concerned with the intention to endow the necessary measures to carry out educational work with young people on Archives State. It is a signal that the proposal will be made SLD to disperse the IPN archives storage and prevent conduct comprehensive research.
In this way Poland lost its archives transferred to the National Archives in Germany with the resources of the Commission for Investigation of Nazi Crimes on the Polish nation.
